Good and plenty, candy news
Questo e' il girasole che mi ha portato xname. Ho interrato i semi a fine aprile e dopo una settimana ne erano gia' spuntati una cinquantina. Sono stati prontamente distribuiti in giro per la citta', i miei stanno per sbocciare, con i loro peletti al sole.
Chissa' gli altri come stanno.
In visita alla settima edizione di Manifesta, fra i laghi e i vini del trentino mi sono imbattuta in alcune piacevoli sorprese. Non nascondo che il bieco motivo per cui ho pensato bene di spostarmi in la' e' stato il semplice pretesto di rivedere gli amichetti di Pyrat Byran, che baldanzosi si sono spinti dalla Svezia al sud Tirolo con una corriera a dir poco improbabile e che via via, nel viaggio si e' riempita di inutili gadgets, dal poggia gomito per l'autista, al presepe adorna cruscotto.
Ad ogni modo fra le chicche e' da annoverare di certo la presenza della nota Etoy corporation, con il suo ultimo progetto Mission eternity, di cui mi riservo di scrivere diffusamente dopo le vacanze, ma soprattutto il lavoro che ho trovato piu' stimolante, quello di Matthew Fuller. A dire il vero la sua opera penso potesse tranquillamente passare inosservata, si trattava di un fazzoleto di terra molto discreto che mal sopportava i tintinnii dei calici e il trionfo dei sandaletti tipici degli opening delle mostre. A global protest against Kohlberg Kravis Roberts by trade unions and activists saw an invoice
delivered to its European headquarters in London for 225m of alleged unpaid taxes.
The protest is meant to cover 25 countries, the London protest organisation Private Equity Creative Action Network said. Camille Beuret, spokeswoman for Pecan, said she had been pleased by the turnout of 31 people for the demonstration, which set off from Trafalgar Square to KKR's office in Stirling Square to the Beatles' anti-tax song Taxman.
She added: "KKR was being singled out at the start of a summer of campaigning because it is one of the largest and oldest private equity firms." She said the organisation was not paid by trade unions but had become aware of the issue after trade unions had highlighted it.
The taxes would have been paid if its UK companies, including retailer Alliance Boots, had been in public ownership she said without explanation.
However, a Citigroup banker based in the same building as KKR but who declined to give his name, said he was unimpressed by the protest's message and impact.
KKR was unavailable to comment.
